Plot data checker
Check a co-operative's or exporter's farm plot file before it goes to a buyer. Get a plot-by-plot report and a clean file in the format the EU deforestation rules (EUDR) ask for.
Your file stays on your device. The check runs in your browser; the file is not uploaded to AfriCompliance or anyone else.
What files work
- GeoJSON: points and polygons, for example from AfriCompliance's farm map or a GIS tool.
- CSV with
latitudeandlongitudecolumns, or awktcolumn, or a Kobo / ODK export with a geopoint or geoshape column. Columns such asfarmer_name,member_noandarea_haare picked up automatically.
What it checks, and what it doesn't
- Shapes: points and boundaries, open or self-crossing boundaries, latitude and longitude swapped, coordinates rounded too much, very small or very large plots.
- Between plots: duplicates, overlapping boundaries, and points that fall inside another plot.
- Records: missing farmer names or IDs, and for EUDR products the 4-hectare rule, missing areas and the country of production.
- Not checked: deforestation after 31 December 2020 and legality. The company placing the product on the EU market does that, for example with FAO's free Whisp tool.
